Many of us can skip one thing we don't need (buying that extra sweatshirt, the weekly Starbucks Venti Acia Refresher, the new shoes, etc.), and choose to donate that amount instead to Skip1 so that a person in need can be fed.
YES! When Shelene and Brice founded Skip1 in 2009, they were not trying to start an organization! They simply couldn't find a place where they could donate to needy children without having some of their donation go to paperclips and credit card fees. At the heart of Skip1 is the tremendous protection of public donations. Shelene and Brice believe that if someone is skipping a $4.25 coffee, all $4.25 should go to helping people. Because of this 100% of public donations go to initiatives that help people in need.
We work globally (we are currently in Uganda, Rwanda, Peru, Dominican Republic, India and beyond!) including building kitchens and supporting feeding programs in impoverished areas in other countries, as well as helping in states within the U.S. when local need arises.
Yes - please contact us on our site whether you are a business, a group or individual who are excited and passionate about skipping and helping those who are in need! We would love to collaborate with you to help you lead or organize events.
